The tool provided to the ship allows the collection of all information relevant to an activity and all actions it is divided into, according to the Risk Assessment manual.
The operator can, moreover, make a first evaluation of risk and send data to the Company by e-mail for the final validation and creation of the official document; he can review the historical data collected with delivery data to the Company and validation data. He can also have the possibility to monitor and print the risk documents relevant to the scheduled activities.
The tool provided to the Company allows to monitor/modify/validate data collected from the ship and to obtain as an output a standardized format with risk assessments of ship's activities.

In order to support the responsible person on shore in the processes and also considering the indications given in the Com.Gen. circular (csg 83 of 21/05/2010), Cons.a.r., on the strength of its International experience, created a software, intuitive and user-friendly, for the R.A. development and management. The software has been recently presented to RINA and received appreciation and good consideration. The tool is addressed both to the ship manager (responsible person on shore) and to the ship. It presents various functions, conceived for its utilization in the SMS context but also in all other fields a R.A. is intended to be developed. The tool has the double function to guide and facilitate the R.A. development and to lighten aspects connected to connected procedures and documents.
In particular:
- The tool can be installed on board ship and on shore (it gives guidance to the ship in filling in R.A. context data to be sent to the responsible person on shore and it guides the ship manager for the R.A. development);
- It gives step-by-step guidance to the operator in each phase of the R.A. development;
- It contains an on-line guide for the consultation - in addition to the complete guide for the R.A. for further eventual training/information activities. An example case of a R.A. development is also included;
- It automatically gives the resultant risk level from the inserted parameters;
- It allows the automatic delivery (with export/import in homogeneous formats) of R.A. data from ship to shore and vice versa (very useful for the ship/shore information exchange as foreseen by the circular/guideline csg 83);
- It generates, catalogues and stores the R.A. documents in digital format (producing and updating the relevant list);
- It allows to print the R.A. documents for the paper database.
